Worked wonders. Treatment lasted 7 days and ulcer gradually disappeared. People complain about the smell but its a natural medicine utilizing tea tree oil. Has a smell like eucalyptus leaves...lingers after 25% water change after treatment but is gone now just through filtering.

My husband has a 60 gallon tank with several types of sharks and cichlids. One of his red tailed sharks caught fin rot. His tail and dorsal fin split in multiple places. We followed the directions on the bottle and treated every day for a week and completed a water change after the seven days. All the fish are looking much better. It took about 5 days to see the results with the shark. Only down side is that the plants in the tank started to get slimy. When we did the water change we washed and scrubbed the plants with a bristle brush. Also, our filter collected a lot of gunk... that needed to be changed too.

I have used many brands of Melafix. It is actually a tea leaf extract that helps promote growth, and releive stress. You can use it when adding new fish, For monthly treatments for healthy fish, or to help fish that are sick. Just be sure to use the correct amounts outlined on the back of the botttle. I highly recommend this product. It has saved 4 fish that I know of. (only one of them being mine)

Melafix has done a great job at re-growing scales and fighting infection! Sadly this product has raised stress in my aquarium... My fish have shrunk in size over the two days I have used this they have not been eating any food at all! I do not recommend Melafix because of this issue. Thanks for listening to my opinion!
