Rated 5 out of 5 by dragongal A good deal
Needed a larger tank for 5 fish that were given to me. For someone not familiar with aquariums this starter kit is perfect (and I was lazy). Wish the hood had a hingle, as it's awkward to remove it EVERYTIME you want to do something in the tank. Wasn't sure I'd like LED lights, but I do. Hood has a cutouts for heater and for power filter. Heater and power filter are OK. You can always upgrade as needed. I think it's a good deal

Open the box in the store to verify contents. Two of 5 have had warped covers. Filter is very loud. A real bargain, however, for beginner.

I recently bought and set up this kit for a planted aquarium. It's an easy one stop shop (nearly) for starting out.
Only major gripe is the hood. As others have commented, it's pretty low quality. It'll work for a while, but that will be upgraded sooner rather than later.
The heater and filter seem to be working fine. Time will tell if the included LEDs are bright enough to sustain plants, but they look nice.

Firstly, why on earth is it 29 gallons? Aquarium sizes are typically 10, 20, 40... why is this 29?!
Anyway, this was an upgrade from a 20-long, for a fairly young turtle. A 40 gallon was way too much.
The extras included are OK and nice to have, but those upgrading probably have better stuff (heater, filtration). The biggest gripe is the useless hood.
I know it's specifically made as a fish aquarium, but that's excluding turtle owners with similar tank needs.
So while it comes with the ability to add LED lights, there's no option for UV lighting. Shame, UV lighting is essential for turtles, and it's a too bad this wasn't considered. You can't hang a lamp over the tank with a hood in place.
Other than that, it's OK.
