Rated 1 out of 5 by Amartin2 Tank has glue residue on glass and hood is bad
The tank is marketed as having everything you need to start a tank, but misses that it is not enough to safely start a tank and almost everything needs to be replaced, even the hood The heater for the tank is too small, it's only rated to keep the temperature in the tank 5 degrees above room temp and really doesn't even do that we'll. After getting it unpacked i almost immediately noticed a string of sealant residue about 8 inches long (that I at first thought was a scratch) on the inside of the glass extending laterally from left to right about mid way down the tank. I managed after a while to get most of it removed before filling the tank with water. Next, I set up the filter and heater and then went to put the hood on and noticed the hood doesn't sit flat on the tank and is slightly warped. No biggie I thought I'll just put some books on it later or something in order to get a more secure seal (my girlfriend has a really weird but friendly betta that likes to jump whenever someone walks into the room. a sealed tank is a must). But when I went and hooked up the lights I noticed another problem with the hood. The darn light wire has a short in it and the lights would only stay on for about 5 seconds before flickering off. After some contorting the wire around I found a position that works. Lastly I go to open up the food cover and it just Falls right into the tank and I notice that it's very poorly secured in the joints and falls out with even the gentlest of movement. For example just by pushing the lip of the hood down can dislodge the food cover and have it fall into the tank. I understand the brands position to try to put as much money into the quality of the tank and just skimp a little on the quality of the accessories but I would have gladly paid an additional 10 to $15 for a little bit better quality Hood to be included in the package. Instead, a replacement hood for this tank runs 50 bucks plus and are hard to find. I mean I can build her a new and better hood in my shop, but that is not the point.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Daysie Disappointed with purchase
I got this for my son for his 16th birthday in May of this year. The light set up has stopped working completely and I have been unable to find a way to replace it...a disappointing birthday gift.

by Kojk Beautiful aquarium! I chose this tank because I'm upgrading from a 3gal, and it doesn't really take up much more room since it's more vertical then wide. Although I already had most of the equipment, this kit comes with everything you need to setup and maintain the tank for a while. I did have to purchase gravel, a whole 25lb bag will fill the bottom nicely, about 2.5" deep. The supplied LEDs are BRIGHT, but I don't mind. I actually prefer it. As someone mentioned before, the supplied filter is a bit under powered, a 50gal filter from Aqueon will do the trick.

Great size aquarium for small areas. I just wished the heater was a better one. Nice lighting and hang on back filter.
