National Geographic™ Crystal Lake Aquarium Sand
I purchased a 25 lb bag of this sand today along with a Top Fin 29 Gallon Aquarium starter kit and I am very pleased with the results. I had no experience with sand & after researching I found it to be a better substrate for me. I have many live plants that thrived in a 10 Gallon tank with gravel but sand is better & looks great. I researched if I should wash the sand & had mixed advice. What I took from it is this, rinsing wastes water & sand, rinsing wastes time, high quality sand will not be dirty, & even if cloudy the tank should be cycled before adding fish so the dust will clear with a power filter. The sand looked high quality which is why I purchased it so I took a chance. The sand is very clean! I poured it directly from the bag into the tan. then filled my tank with water. The sand that did stir up clumped into small balls and eventually sank & there was no dust! I've already added my Betta & live plants to help the cycle & I am extremely pleased with the results!

I like it!!
Looks great, especially under LED's. It settles nicely. Don't forget to rinse. Although it doesn't have a lot of dust. Good product.
