Rated 1 out of 5 by Joy813 Larger Clipper broke in the middle of second use
I thought this would be a good buy for grooming my 2 small (one short hair and one fine medium hair) dogs. I had it about 30 days before I attempted to use it because I had just taken them to the groomer and they did not need to be groomed before then. When I went to use it the following month, the larger clipper would not stay in the on position meaning to cut hair you had to keep your finger on the on switch ( I'm half way through the grooming by this time. IT EVEN SHORTED OUT THE OUTLET I WAS USING and I had to run an extension cord to complete grooming. You are unable to return the item to the store for exchange due to their 60 day policy on grooming supplies. I called Andis customer service, explained the problem and that I had only used it once prior and it was fine. They were less than helpful, DOWNRIGHT NASTY AND UNSYMPATHETIC. She said I could ship it back to them AT MY COST and they would take a look at it. There obviously was a defect, I could prove when I purchased it, you think they could have sent me a free return ship label? NO! By the way, the smaller battery operated one in my opinion does not get enough speed to be of any use and not to pull even the finest hair. I have had one of their human clippers before with no problem but forget these pet clippers. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OF THEIR CLIPPERS AGAIN FOR PET OR HUMAN!

I bought this clipper/trimmer kit for my Yorkie, Jack.
I decided to learn to groom him at home. This is perfect kit for beginners like me.Jack will not grow any more, so this kit is perfect for him. Both clipper and trimmer are very easy to use and they are lightweight and make very little noise. Be sure to adjust the power setting on the clippers or they will be much too loud. It's very easy to adjust and makes a big difference.
The kit comes in a nice case to keep it all in. I highly recommend this kit if you are a beginner or not.
