They recommended this to me at Petsmart and I'm very grateful they did. I thought my dog was a German Shepherd mix, as that is what he appeared to be. It turns out he is mostly a Rottweiler/Labrador retriever mix. The test came back sooner than I thought it would, which is a plus. Was expected to take up to three weeks, as said by the website but only took eight days. All in all, I'm very happy with the results.

by Ang7 I was a skeptic
In July 14, I adopted a young lady. The shelter had no idea what kind of dog she was...their best guess was a wire haired terrier. When asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said a DNA test kit for Falyn. I followed the direction...with no cooperation from Falyn, of course! In less than 3 weeks, I had the results! After seeing the results, it was so clear from the features, mannerisms and markings what she had in her! I am the proud owner of a Russell Terrier/Parson Russell Terrier/Maltese/Australian Shepherd! It's amazing how close they got, without ever seeing a picture!

Rated 1 out of 5 by lab4747 wont identify a mutt
I bought this kit thinking I would be able to identify what kind of dog I rescued last year. Mars Veterinary (makers of the wisdom panel kit) could only tell me that my dog was 1/16th this and 1/16th that, and only 1/4 of that DNA was identifiable. They said because she is a mutt, her parents, grandparents and great grandparents were mutts, their system couldn't discern anything more. This may be a great idea to confirm that your purebred dog is in fact a purebred, but dont be looking for any help figuring out what you got from the pound... I know no more about the dog I adopted now than I did $80 ago, and getting a refund from them is like pulling teeth...
