Rated 5 out of 5 by Dallasbug I have 2 monster dogs, a bloodhound and a rotti, this has lasted more than 6 months for them, and it's still in one piece. That's a record for my guys!

I purchased this for my new rescue. He likes to play with ropes and tug. Like the other reviewers, it did not last long. It took two (2) tugs and it all came apart. It is now in three pieces - two ropes and the center piece. He wanted to play with the rope even after it broke but the glue on the ends of the rope that was used (unsuccessfully) to hold it together was all over the ends. It is now where it belongs - in the TRASH!!!!

We recently took in a dog, who loves to play. We bought him this rope because we could tug with him and the rope was tight we was hoping that it would take awhile before he chewed it to pieces. The first one we got lasted about 2 weeks, the 2nd one lasted about 2 weeks. And honestly with how our dog plays this is great. I went Thursday (09/25/14) to pet smart and bought two of these and one of the tennis balls on each end with rope in the middle because the toys were on sale. Both of these ropes just did not make it. I gave him one and the end pulled right out of the middle (I even thought I'd try to hot glue it back together it didn't work). I don't know what we are going to do now. I want him to have toys and enjoy them. But I just spent $25 and in 3 days we have ZERO toys. I wish I could find a brand that could with stand his playing and chewing. I truly understand not every toy is going to make it. I know he is rough. But I handed him the toy he took it to the living room and it was broken with one baby tug. He didn't even get a chance to play with it before I had to take it from him. And I'm sure he feels like he did something wrong when he didn't. I don't know if I'd recommend this or not. Our first two did fine. The last two didn't even make it out of the package for 5 minutes.

This could be a GREAT toy if the ends were properly secured in the plastic center piece. Unfortunately, they are not and it came apart within 3 or 4 play sessions. My girl is only 35 pounds so it's not like she's pulling on it THAT hard. I liked the rope it was made of, very tightly twisted. She gnawed on it quite a bit with very little damage to the rope. Next time we will try one that is tied instead of glued.
