My husband and I have 2 Mini Dachshunds at home that have to potty often. We thought that this would be an amazing item to get for them while we are work during the day, so they have somewhere to go. It worked really well the first couple days. Till one of our dogs decided to shred the grass. It wasn't totally torn up so we decided to continue using it. I won't spend my money on another one of these. You basically have to clean it everyday or it smells. It gets squished into the grass, so the only way to clean it is to spray it in the bathtub. Who wants to do that everyday though!! I would recommend potty pads and a holder over this product. so much easier to clean and easy to change. And no lingering smell even after cleaning.

While staying in an apartment temporarily I purchased this at the suggestion of an employee. My dogs wouldn't even stand on it. And I don't blame them. It's very thin synthetic grass over a prickly plastic tray. But since I opened it I can return or exchange it. Waste of money!

My puppy does use this pad. No piddles on the floor. UNLESS I don't get the pieces all picked up and put back together or trashed from where she's chewed it up! And not just the green grassy pad either, but the plastic pad underneath it that allows the liquid to flow through onto the tray. That's the only thing she hasn't chewed up is the tray! I'm already going to have to get a new plastic pad and a new grassy pad, and it's only been 2 months!
Oh, and I'm not talking about a big, huge rough and tumble type dog either. I'm talking about a 4 month old Pomeranian who doesn't even weigh 3.5 pounds yet!

I love this product for my two small dogs. They never hesitated to use it. We use it for rainy days or times the little girls can't go out. I put it in my small shower so they are confined somewhat, and they do just fine. I put the pad just on top of the bottom tray and change it frequently, depending on how often they use it. The turf itself does have an odor, but after a few uses I wash it off and then soak it in bleach that is safe for colors. Sometimes I will leave it all day, and I'm lucky in that I have a large sink in the kennel that is perfect for soaking it. It certainly helps with the odor and does no damage. I just bought a replacement turf today so I will always have one clean and ready to go when they need it, and after this winter we have had, you just never know when that will be. This is a great product--I was skeptical at first, but they used it from day one and I am very happy with it.
