Not as easy as I thought
I bought these because I intended to start trimming my dogs nails instead of having the groomer or vet take care of it. I am scared to cut the quick, so I took them to my vet to have her demonstrate how to use them. She said she wouldn't use them. They weren't user or dog friendly in my experience with them.

Don't waste your money
I am a veterinary technician so clipping nails is something that I do on a regular basis. These clippers are probably some of the worst. The design feels very flimsy and the 'sharp cutting blade' had trouble getting through the nails, it left a lot of frayed edges. I purchased the largest size and they barely open up wide enough to fit over my dog's nails and he is only a 75lbs shepherd, how on earth you would get these to work on a dog larger than him is beyond me.
The trimming guide is also a very awkward design. I usually remove these anyways as they just get in the way, but they have made the screw so long that even if you remove the guard there is a giant bolt in your way.
Overall I would save your money and look into another pair of nail clippers. I will definitely be returning these and going back to the classic scissor style, doesn't look as fancy as these but definitely designed to get the job done!

I can understand some of the things that other people who reviewed this product had issues with but personally I love them.
The main thing that makes these clippers for me is the handle. I would say my hands are an 'average' size, I am female but do not have tiny hands.
I do my dog's nails after his bath, I get a smoother cut that way. The oversized rubber handles mean I do not need to worry at all about them slipping in my hand. He does not fuss to much during the process but with wet hands and paws a the firm grip is one less thing to worry about so I can clip without rechecking that I am in the right place a million times.
I would agree that they likely would not work on a very large dog. Mine is around 25lbs-30lbs and there is a decent amount of room for bigger nails. Guillotine style cutters will work better for very large or thick nails anyway.
