Kwik Stop Styptic Dog Powder
I do not have any pets however I have gone to other peoples houses and have bathed and groomed their dogs! This product really helps me out when there is a dog that just wont sit still or goes crazy when it see's a nailclipper. All I have to do is take a cotton ball and press it firmly down on the nail and the bleeding stops after a few seconds! The only part that is somewhat ''bad'' about this product is that its a powder and when I had first openned it up the powder went everywhere on the floor! Other than that it's an absolutely great product to use!! I recommend it for all owners!

Works well to stop bleeding
I used to groom and have used Kwik Stop for years, it works well and has not failed me. Recently I could not find my container of it and accidentally quicked my dog, I tried corn starch and flour and neither worked, I eventually had to take him to the vet where they got out their Kwik Stop and stopped the bleed immediately. The reason this works better than flour or cornstarch is that it cauterizes the wound instead of just helping the blood clot. I would recommend this to anyone who plans on cutting their dogs nails themselves.

I use this product at on my guinea pig, dog, hamster, cat, and conure's nails when trimming. To apply:Use q-tip to pick up some of the product, then hold against nail; if still bleeding pick up more product and hold against bleeding nail. If your pet is too stressed, it may continue to bleed due to the increased blood pressure. Just keep repeating and holding off bleeding area. You can also apply by taking a pinch between your fingers and pressing against the nail, but I find it easier to use a q-tip since the blood would be absorbed into it instead of on my fingers. I gave it 4 star for pet satisfaction due to it possibly stinging; pro to that would be it also helps numb the area, unlike using flour. It may seem pricey to some people, but I've had my container for years and it isn't even half full. I even trim nails of pets that aren't mine and I still plenty of this product.
