I was so excited when I found this extra-wide, classy in appearance gate on sale at my local PetSmart. I brought it home, put it together, and it worked great...for a week. Then the wooden parts literally began falling apart. I almost took it back to the store, but we needed it *so* badly for our husky puppy. So, my handy teenaged son fixed it with Gorilla Glue and a power drill. The glue and screws are holding it together well, so far, but I've learned my lesson on buying Top Paw products. Never again. If they can't manufacture a simple wooden gate well, then I won't buy anything else made by their company again. I give it 2 stars only for the appearance and the fact that it's extra-wide (try looking for a gate for a 60" opening - tough!). TLDR; I do *not* recommend this product.

I have had this gate for less than 2 weeks and it fell apart. My husband is trying to glue it back together. If it had not broke into 10 pieces, I would have loved it. I looks great and works smoothly, except it is now in many pieces being glued together again.

The gate was easy to put together. I needed it for a larger opening and because it is adjustable it fits perfect. Looks nicer than a baby gate.

We originally got this gate because it didn't look like all the other cheap gates out there. Turns out, we would have been better off with one of those cheap-looking gates.
First gripe: we wanted to put this in a doorway. Since our dog is on the larger size, we wanted to use the tension brackets so he didn't just knock it over. Well, this is by far the most nonsensical set-up ever. It takes both my husband and I to set it up--one person to hold the gate upright and another to tighten the tension brackets.
Second gripe: this is by far the most upsetting one--the first time the dog knocked it over, the whole thing fell apart. Literally. It is now in 5 pieces. The wood pieces on the top of the gate separated from the rest of the wood supports and both of the metal mesh gates just fell out. The FIRST TIME my dog knocked it over.
With shoddy craftsmanship and some head-scratching engineering, this piece isn't worth your time or money. As for my husband and I, we're back to the drawing board and out quite a bit of money.
