We had this fountain for about 3 months before it broke. I liked it at first, even though it was very noisy, but having to research and find another fountain is annoying; especially after such a short time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dhutch I bought two
I have 4 dogs and clean this twice a week as the pump gets pretty hairy pretty fast. I would love this but for the lack of parts. I bought one, it lasted about 6 months when the pump went out. Couldn't get more parts so I bought another one thinking maybe it was just bad luck. Nope, 6 months in and this one stopped too. If they made replacement pumps I would buy them, would probably pay close to what I paid for the whole thing but this is too big to be throwing out every 6 months. I make more then my fair share of trash for this planet, don't need to be adding to the problem any more then I have too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fender Works great if you know how to clean it
The instruction manual does say to clean it weekly, but it doesn't specify that you need to actually take the cover off the pump to clean it. I have been pulling my hair out for weeks, cleaning the entire fountain daily only to have the water slow to a trickle within a few minutes of cleaning. Thanks to the reviewers here, I realized maybe the pump needed more than external cleaning.
Here's what to do: remove the pump completely from the fountain (it is suction cupped to the bottom). You will need to pull one end of the cover off the pump. There are no tabs or indicators that you can do so, but the end that has the flow control lever pops off. You may need to pry it with a flathead or sharp edge. Removing this part of the cover will allow you to thoroughly clean the induction part inside the pump (I'm probably not calling it the right thing but you can see what I mean inside - it's a white piece that the water flows directly through.) It will become clogged with nasty junk which prevents proper flow and cannot be cleaned with the plastic cover on. Go ahead and thoroughly clean the part of the cover you removed also. It snaps right back on and should be fine for awhile, depending on how many animals you have.
Our animals love it and so do I when it's working right. I'd give it a 5 star rating if 1) it were easier to maintain and 2) the mfr directions for cleaning were more thorough.
