First, this is NOT supposed to have a strong scent. This is a calming spray made with essential oils, not a freshener. While humans may not be able to smell it, animals absolutely do. Similar to pheromones, the scent isn't discernible to human olfactory systems.
Having gotten that out of the way, the essential oils in this are quite good at calming animals. Our vet recommended this in particular. We have used the spray while moving pets in crates, during storms and when introducing new cats to a home. While it's not a magic bullet, it does seem to take the frantic level way down. I especially like that lavender isn't an ingredient. It's dangerous to cat systems even in small or diluted amounts, but, shockingly, is often in other cat calming sprays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by magyar12 did the trick way over my expectations.
I have four cats and moved them from Monterey County to Butte County and sprayed the inside of each carrier and I actually pulled over twice to check on them as they didn't make a sound and were perfectly fine when I arrived. I couldn't believe it. One of the cats was a stray that I took with me and he too had a perfect trip. This product should be in vets offices. Natural ingredients!
