Rated 5 out of 5 by AngS Best litter for my picky cat
I have a cat that's a little over a year old. She was inappropriately eliminating after I got her and have been working with her to correct this for a year. Her urinating issues came from being picky about the litter/litter box and insecurity in a multicat house. She's an only cat now and happy so she's very secure. I ran out if this litter and used some leftover Fresh Step...no! She urinated on my bed and couch (I keep those protected) until I ran out and bought this litter again. I scoop daily (it clumps great) and use the nature's disposable box. Together with this litter I found magic and it's saved my furniture. I dont like cat urine and litter smell, so I find regular scooping to be helpful. People are surprised I even have a cat when they come in

by myhsplace still decent but, not the same anymore!!
this use to be a five star litter, it had mostly no dust and clumped and controlled odor excellently.. We tried loads of litters and for the last few years this truly was the best clay clumping unscented litter ever for our 11 cat household (more in the past when we rescued).....fast forward to i guess about 3-6mths ago, i started to noticed i was seeing very light dust clouds while cleaning litter box now, not enough to bother me or the cats yet but, there is a definetely noticeable increase in dust and it seems to be becomming a little more and more so these days. I also started noticing it is not clumping as solidly as it use to, still does okay but, no where near as quickly and as good as it use to which is effecting how well this litter now controls odors.. This precious cat unscented litter has clearly been reformulated, it is no longer worthy of its excellent past reviews IMO but, yet it still seems to be the best choice when it comes to getting an as dustless as you can clumping clay litter.. Sad they changed it but, we will for now continue to use it till someone makes a litter version of how this litter use to be..
What really made me finally realize this is not the same great litter, is the lack of the blue specks things (you can kinda see them in pic) it use to have in it. at first i thought maybe i am remembering wrong but, today i opened a closet that we rarely used, that has a litter box in front of it, and there was some scattered litter in it with quite a few blue pieces in it!!
funny how formula gets a downgrade but, yet the price stays close to the twenty mark..now that i think of it, i think we are going to start searching for something new, price is too high for a dumb down litter now..

Rated 3 out of 5 by Linndy good litter but....
I have used this litter for years. I have always thought I was worth the money. but recently I have noticed that there is much more dust, reduced clumping and odor control. it seems like they might be sacrificing quality for profit. I will probably try a new litter next time.

I used this cat litter for several years, as i have a cat with asthma and wanted an unscented cat litter.
While the bag/box proclaims to be dust free, you will definitely see some dust in your litter box and your surroundings. It's not as much dust as I have seen with other litters, but still there is dust. The biggest con for this litter for me was the heavy amount of tracking that my cats did with this litter.
I recently switched to ARM & Hammer's Healthy Solutions Powerseal litter, and am very happy with that litter. I'd give Dr. Elsey's 4 stars versus I'd give the brand and type I switched to 5 stars.
