I had bought this before. It lasted about 5 years before I had to throw it away. I kept it, probably 2-3 years longer than I should have. It will hold smell and will eventually become un-cleanable. I used a power sprayer to clean it but could not tolerate it more. Went with a stainless steel 6" food pan via a restaurant supply place. That lasted 3 days. Why? They would do business over the sides. This has been the only litter box which kept them inside the litter box. Must clean it out every day. Dont use dusty clay litter as your cats could develop asthma like mine did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Emmy12 No More Litter Flinging!
My parents actually bought this litter box for my cat one day when we were in desperate need of a new box and I was unable to go to the store. It is honestly the best litter box I have ever purchased. I recently purchased a second to replace the old one.
My cat likes to fling litter and also scratches whatever is nearby to try and super-cover his tracks. Previously I put cardboard between the litter box and the wall to avoid damage, but with this I don't have to! The walls are high enough to keep it all in, but not to the point it's like a bucket. Plus it fits under our utility sink. Yay!
The pour spout is the only thing that knocks off a star. It's great when changing litter and controlling kitty entrance/exit, but sometimes litter can get stuck just before the pour out point. It's an awkward place to try and scrape out with a scoop and takes some coaxing. Other than that, I totally recommend it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Murphie It smells
I bought two new litter boxes; this one and another brand. Although I like the tall sides, as it keeps most of the litter contained, it starts to smell within a week. I use the same litter in both boxes and they're always waste free. The other one has no smell at all and I haven't had to change the litter in a month, but this one needs to be emptied and cleaned weekly. I wish I knew the difference in the materials they are made of so I can avoid it in the future.

I ordered this online and picked it up for 10% off. It's a nice sturdy box, and I like that it is high all around except for the opening. HOWEVER, the interior only measures 18" x 15" at the TOP, which is a few inches bigger than it is at the bottom. The box works fine for my 10 lb. calico who really likes to dig around, although she still manages to throw some litter out. When my 16 lb. Norwegian gets in there he fills the whole box! I realize he's a fluffy guy but we stopped using a covered box long ago because he'd wet the sides and rub his fur on it when he turned around in there. He does use this new box and the high sides stop him from peeing over the top but the dimensions are misleading. The 23" length INCLUDES the "pour spout" opening (5"). My Norwegian also happens to like to perch on the side of his litter box, which I hadn't considered when I ordered this one. He has solved this by resting just his front legs on the spout and crouching in the box on his back legs. I have a couple of boxes that are actually 23" x 16" x 10" on the INSIDE at the top. They are high on three sides and just lower on the front side but they lack the spout and that makes them difficult to dump when I do a complete litter change. The front on those doesn't quite fit into the 13 gallon trash bag opening so the bag slips and I end up with litter on the floor -- YUK! I think the Nature's Miracle Box is great for normal size cats and while I haven't done a complete litter change yet I think the spout will help. Big cats are just difficult -- the larger boxes are harder to handle.
