My cats have loved this ever since I bought it -- it's their window seat, bed, jungle-gym and scratching post all in one! I've only had one problem: the platform below the top section, which is unsupported at one end. Every time the cats go up or down from the top, they bounce off that platform and the impact puts a lot of strain on those rear joints. After only 5 months it was loose and wobbly; a couple months more and I think it would have come off completely! Fortunately I found an easy fix: a simple shelving bracket, attached to post and underside of the platform, stabilized it perfectly.

My kitties got a new tree for Christmas! So far so good. I have three large cats (12, 14 and 16 lbs.) and they fit on all layers with no problem.

by IdaMaesHomemadeCookies Another Great Cat Tree!
Last month we added a new cat to the home, so now we need more vertical space for them. I am very happy that we purchased this piece of cat furniture; good addition to our home. We have cat shelves that flank high on the walls at the sides of our picture window. We already have a tree configuration on one side that everyone loves. With this new tree, all 4 of my cats can now enjoy the new shelves on the other side of the window. Before I could get the new tree into proper position, there were already a few "inspectors" checking it out. The tree is sturdy, the craftsmanship is well, and the plush seating in the bottom tier is a big hit. The sisal rope it great for the new kitten to use for scratching since the older cats are without claws. The edge-less platforms are great for larger cats, so that they won't feel too cramped. I now think that my kitty-babies are all set with places to lounge. We are all content!

All levels and beds are big enough and easily accessible for my extra large, 20 pound, cat. He has a little trouble maneuvering between the first and second levels because the first doesn't stick out much from the second. The cut out in the lip of the top level bed makes a big difference to his ability to climb up. I don't think he could get up there without it. Beds are approximately 17"x 11", rectangular perch is approximately 18"x 12", and round perch is approximately 16" in diameter. It's sturdy when placed against a wall (wobbles a little but doesn't scare my cautious kitty). We are very happy with the carpeting. I think a faux fur covering would be too slippery and wouldn't provide the traction he needs to climb safely. Plush padding in bottom bed, dangling cat toy, and sisal scratch post are nice extra features.
