Trixie San Fernando Cat Tree
Torn up by an 7 lb Kitty
I am giving this product 3 stars based on a list of pros and cons.
My cat loves the hammock
Not very stable if your cat is the rambunctious type (my 12lb tabby is too much for it)
Ripped on the first use.
Here's my explanation of my pros and cons:
I was very excited that I put this together by myself. For the price, it's a neat piece that doesn't stand out in my home. I had to position it in a corner though for added stability. My tabby is on the chunky side so if he jumps on it, it has a tendency to topple over on him. My little calico/Persian mix is a dainty, little 7lb ball of fluff. I first came in to the room to find her snuggled on the hammock. She climbed up to the top tier and proceeded to kneed at the carpet. She was on the tree for less than 4 minutes after I put it up and she managed to pop the seam with very little effort. I thought my tabby would be the one to destroy this first. Was I supposed to train the cats that the rope was for kneeding only? Carpet is for sleeping? (I am being sarcastic.)
So, I will say, this is not the best quality product. I expected it to last a little bit longer. You know, maybe 24 hours before it was ruined. Curious if anybody else had this issue with quality from Trixie.
