GNC Pets Superfood Complex Premium Cat Powder is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now part of our normal "kit". Being feral cat colony caretakers for over six years on a large city, you run into all kinds of health/medical situations. Recently we took in a pregnant cat to foster. Unfortunately she had the kittens about a week early and they were tiny, as was she. While she was receiving calcium supplements in her food as all new mother cats should receive, it became obvious there was a problem. When it came time for the kittens to learn to walk they all were frog legged. Doing some research and talking to our vet, I learned they may, along with their mother, be suffering from a mineral deficiency, in addition to being born early, and poor nutrition for the mother. Started adding this to her food, and a few days later to the kittens' wet food when they would take it. [yes they were behind. Their eyes didn't open until around the 20th day as an example] Within a few days the kittens energy level exploded, their eyes were brighter, and while they were still a bit frog-legged, they were now pushing themselves off the floor and trying to jump. The mother even tries to eat the powder straight out of the can. Many people complain that a quarter or half scoop is too much and dries the food out. Try mixing the powder first with water, then add to the wet or dry food as a gravy. If they don't like it at first, just add small amounts working up to the recommended amount. Something is better than nothing. I prefer GNC products, and I use GNC supplements in my personal life, because most of their products are pharmaceutical grade. You won't find that in most human or pet supplements. The results between non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical are like night and day. And remember with Petsmart, if you don't like the product, you can always take it back! And no, I don't work for Petsmart or GNC. Just have a lot of experience with cats.
