BLUE Basics™ Indoor Mature Cat Food
Blue Basics Turkey & Potato - saved our Tiger!
Our 14 year-old cat, Tiger, was having some severe digestive problems recently (not to mention mobility problems) and was not able to keep any of his regular canned cat food down. I was desperate and my husband feared that we would have to put him to sleep. After switching him to another dry food and Blue Basics Turkey and Potato canned food, he began to perk up and enjoy eating again. A week after changing his foods, he was significantly better. Six weeks later, he is frisky, inquisitive, acting like a kitten and his mobility is much, much improved. A change in diet saved our Tiger!

I Highly Recommend This Brand!
My 11 year old had food allergies with IBS and pancreatitis likely from the food issues. He was on a veterinary brand for intestinal issues for a long time, then switched to limited ingredient due to increased vomiting. He did good for almost 2 years but the vomiting never completed went away during that time. Eventually it came back worse than before. The vets were stumped and blamed it on the IBS and pancreatitis. I tried other veterinary limited ingredient diets but the vomiting and intermittent bowl issues (constipation or diarrhea) continued and then he refused to eat. He began losing weight and I was worried it was something very serious. Vets continued to scratch their heads. I finally gave up on the veterinary brands and began to try natural OTC limited ingredient diets. I noticed a change almost immediately with this Blue Basics Limited Ingredient Indoor Mature. The vomiting is basically gone. He still gets a little stomach upset occasionally, but I think he is continuing to heal. His weight is up, and he's happy and energetic again. I compared the veterinary limited ingredient he was eating (venison) and there are so many grains, fillers and other chemicals in comparison to the Blue Buffalo. I'm just thankful I finally listened to what my cat was trying to tell me. I hope they never stop making the Basics Limited ingredient indoor mature turkey and potato. I don't know what I would do otherwise. I highly recommend this food to pet owners struggling with food allergy or intestinal issues with their cats.
The 5 stars is strictly for the food. Petsmart has not made it easy to get this food. I can only do ship to store. Barely any of the stores carry it and they keep so little in stock I end up having to drive all over town to find it. I wish petsmart.com would allow ship to home so I could set up auto delivery and not have to scour the city tracking it down. The ship to store isn't perfect and I've ordered online, only to get to the store and the order has been sold, it's not in stock, or only partially in stock. Why is this particular flavor not available ship to home? I spoke to a Blue Buffalo rep and they say it's not discontinued so what's the problem? Blue Buffalo and Petsmart need to get this together. The price and convenience is perfect at petsmart, but it's so hard to get this food, I may have to find another source out of desperation.

Cat really likes Basics Turkey
Our 12 yo kitty has digestion/constipation problems. Must be really careful; gets too blocked up. But now we also need to watch the food content for her slowing metabolism and kidney function. Have been using Hill's Prescription AD and ID, but she didn't like the new one we were trying, super picky!! After a few diff tries, we found the Blue Buffalo basics wet Turkey. She is eating it very well. It has a good protein-fat-water content balance for her system. I like the grain free too. Oddly Hills Prescription has a lot of grain and starch which worries me with cat digestion/constipation probs.
